NEW ORLEANS; handle with an irregular edge bordered with acanthus leaves; finial with a portrait of a bearded man and on the sash the signature CAPT. EADS below the breakwater; late 19th century; Providence, United States of America; cutlery; height 14.8 cm, width 3 cm, weight 30 g, A single ornate metal spoon lies horizontally against a plain gray background; the spoon has an oval bowl with an engraved scene and a long decorative handle featuring scrollwork and a raised sculpted figure at the end. The visible colors are metallic tones of brass or bronze with areas of darker patina and the background gray.
