Porridge bowl porringer, Wakely & Wheeler Ltd London; goldsmiths; fl. 1791–1958 maker, porringer porridge dish with relief decoration: hemispherical bowl decorated with relief acanthus rosettes in the lower part, knobbed above, octave-shaped rim; two volute handles on the sides one half-preserved. Motifs: rosette, acanthus. Date: 1891/1892. Place: London, England, Great Britain. Materials/technique: dish; height 7.6 cm, width 24 cm, depth 19.5 cm, weight 415 g., A polished metal bowl with a scalloped rim and an overall rounded shape, shown from an angled top view revealing its interior and exterior; the exterior features a repeating decorative pattern of raised floral or fan-like motifs around the lower portion, while the upper portion has smooth, rounded panels; the interior reflects light and shows areas of subtle texture and shallow ornamental ridges near the base; two ornate handles with curled and scroll-like designs extend from opposite sides of the rim; the visible colors are silver and shades of gray.
