Hip flask, George & Sons Birmingham; goldsmith's firm; fl. 1825–1928. So-called cuboid hip flask with rounded corners; smooth, slightly curved; spout in the form of a narrow neck with an applied spherical hinged stopper; bottle narrowed in the lower part from the middle; on this part a slide-in container — a cup masking the narrowing — is placed; the interior of the cup and the spout are gilded. Alcohol vessel, 1907–1908. England, Birmingham. Height 15.5 cm, width 7.6 cm, depth 2.7 cm; weight 240 g., A photograph of a metallic hip flask and its matching cup, both shown against a pale gray background; the flask has a rounded rectangular shape with a smooth reflective surface and a spherical cap attached by a small hinged collar, and the cup is a shorter rounded rectangle with a similar smooth reflective finish; visible colors are silver, light gray, and subtle darker gray reflections across the surfaces.
