Sugar bowl by Hutton & Sons Ltd Sheffield, Birmingham, London; goldsmith and silversmith firm; fl. 1800–1930. Silver sugar bowl, oval with two ribbon handles; clasp vertically in the lower section; decorated above with a band of stylised acanthus twig; upper edge decorated with a godron half-cylinder. Godron ornaments, plant twig motif. Dated 1895/1896, London, England. Vessel; height 11 cm, width 17.3 cm, depth 10.5 cm, weight 231 g., A metal vessel with a reflective silver surface and a shallow oval opening sits against a plain light background; it has a pair of curved handles rising from opposite sides, ornate edging around the rim, decorative embossed banding with floral and circular motifs around the upper body, and vertical fluted panels along the lower body, while the interior shows a slightly darker, warm metallic tone; visible colors include silver, gray, light beige, and subtle warm brown tones.
