Bread basket by Hainrich Mau fl. early 20th century and Hutton & Sons Ltd goldsmith and silversmith firm, fl. 1800–1930. Oval, boat-shaped openwork silver basket on four curved legs, decorated on the sides with openwork plant and floral twig motifs set in an arched ogee back, ribbon reserves, ribbon upper edge, enclosed at the bottom by a godron half-cylinder. Handle is a movable bow in openwork decorated with plant tendrils. Geometric and floral ornament, godron ornaments. Dated 1901–1902, London, England, Great Britain. Vessel; height 18 cm, width 22.7 cm, depth 3.7 cm, weight 388 g., A decorative oval metal dish viewed from above with an openwork pierced border featuring ornate scroll and floral cutouts and a smooth central well showing subtle surface marks; the dish and its handles are metallic silver with areas of slightly darker gray patina against a pale gray background.
