Teapot by George McHattie fl. 1799–ca. 1825, English Regency style. Rectangular teapot with rounded edges, supported by four ball feet. Decorated with hoarding ornament at the base; above are two smooth half-cylinders with an engraved braided band at the narrowing. Upper edge has a collar decorated with hoardings and flowers. Hinged rectangular profiled lid edged with tendril; high axis spout shaped like a spout. Broken ear with bone insulators. Dated 1819–1820, made in Edinburgh, Scotland. Vessel. Height 16 cm; width 28.5 cm; depth 13.5 cm; weight 735 g., A silver teapot with an open hinged lid sits against a neutral background, showing a rounded body with decorative ridges and embossed patterns; the lid has a raised floral-like design and an ornate border, and the interior visible through the opening appears dark. The teapot has a curved spout and a wide handle with small rectangular accents in a yellowish-gold color near its attachments. The body rests on small rounded feet and features repeating scalloped and braided motifs around its sides, all rendered in reflective metallic silver with highlights and some shadowed gray areas.
