Teapot, maker: George McHattie fl. 1799–ca. 1825. English Regency style, 1819–1820. Rectangular teapot with rounded edges, supported by four ball feet; decorated with hoardings ornament at the bottom and two smooth half-cylinders above; engraved braid band at the narrowing; upper edge with a collar decorated with hoardings and flowers. Hinged, rectangular profiled lid edged with tendril; high axial spout shaped spout; broken ear with bone insulators. Materials: silver tea vessel. Dimensions: height 16 cm, width 28.5 cm, depth 13.5 cm; weight 735 g. Place of manufacture: Edinburgh, Scotland, Great Britain., A metallic container with an open hinged lid sits centered against a light beige background, showing a reflective silver surface with decorative embossed patterns; the lid interior has a raised floral or fan-like motif and a small central knob, and the body features rounded fluted panels, engraved border designs, a straight handle or spout at the front, and rests on a few spherical feet, all displaying shades of silver and gray with soft reflected highlights.
