Teapot, maker: George McHattie fl. 1799–ca. 1825. English Regency rectangular teapot with rounded edges, supported by four ball feet. Decorated with hoardings ornament at the bottom, above which are two smooth half-cylinders; at the narrowing an engraved band of braid. Upper edge has a collar decorated with hoardings and flowers. Hinged rectangular profiled lid edged with tendril. Spout-shaped spout set high on the axis. Broken ear with bone insulators. Tea vessel, 1819–1820, Edinburgh, Scotland. Materials/technique: goldsmith work.
