Teapot, maker: George McHattie fl. 1799–ca. 1825. English Regency rectangular teapot with rounded edges, supported by four ball feet. Decorated with hoardings ornament at the bottom, above which are two smooth half-cylinders; at the narrowing an engraved band of braid. Upper edge has a collar decorated with hoardings and flowers. Hinged rectangular profiled lid edged with tendril. Spout-shaped spout set high on the axis. Broken ear with bone insulators. Tea vessel, 1819–1820, Edinburgh, Scotland. Materials/technique: goldsmith work. Dimensions: height 16 cm, width 28.5 cm, depth 13.5 cm; weight 735 g., A polished metal teapot with a hinged lid propped open sits on a reflective surface, showing a rounded body with ornate raised patterns and braided decorative bands, a curved spout ending in a small upward curl, a handle with a curved bracket and small decorative rivet elements, and three rounded ball feet; visible colors include silver, white, pale beige, and hints of muted gold on small handle accents.
