Leg tray by Robert Harper fl. 1853–1869 and Harper & Son London; goldsmith's firm, fl. 1869–1889. Circular patera supported on three volute legs terminating in vine leaves at the base. The mirror features a blind reserve richly decorated with engraved Neo-Rococo ornament in the form of rocailles, rooster combs, acanthus volutes, and floral sprigs. The slightly raised, openwork collar features relief decoration of vine leaves and grapes, with four Dionysus masks at the feet, and high-relief insects butterflies, moths, midges, snails, and a caterpillar. The collar edge is edged with a profiled half-cylinder decorated with shells and a rooster comb.
