Punch vase, made by Paul Storr 1771–1844 and the firm Storr & Mortimer London; goldsmiths, fl. 1822–1838. Spherical, flattened, eight-part burled and ribbed punch vase, burling, supported on four volute leafy feet. Two handles decorated with acanthus leaves and stylized shells; upper edge turned up and decorated with relief ornament of leaves and shells. Belly engraved with a coat of arms in a decorative cartouche. Materials/technique: silver goldsmithing. Subject/ornament: acanthus, shells, volutes, English coat of arms. Date: 1831/1832. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Function: punch vessel.
