Classicist two-armed candelabra by John Schofield fl. 1776–1796, goldsmith; classicism/Georgian/George III style. On a square base surrounded by godron ornament, passing into a circular foot decorated with a surrounding rosette; faceted stem enclosed at the top with a knurled floral tendril, terminating in a vase-shaped socket decorated with acanthus leaves and facets, edged with godrons, in which is set a setting in the form of two faceted, rotating arms ending with plate-shaped profils and vase-shaped candle holders, separated by a decorative vase with a lid. Engraved on several elements with a tied monogram PHB, dated 1786/1787, made in London, England. Lighting object; height 47.5 cm, width 38 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 850 g., A tall metallic candlestick with a reflective silver surface stands on a square base with a ridged border and a fluted circular platform, the stem above it tapering upward with vertical fluting and decorative bands, leading to a carved collar with a leaf-like motif and a wider fluted cup, above which a series of ornamental platforms and cups ascend, including a group of smaller fluted candle cups and scalloped-edged plates connected by curved decorative elements, all shown against a plain neutral gray-to-white gradient background with visible colors including silver, gray, and white.
