Tea caddy, Nash, Bowles fl. 1720–ca. 1725 goldsmith; rococo style; tea accessory; rocaille ornament, roses and flowers ornament; purchase provenance; dedications. Cuboid tea caddy with a circular domed lid and a bowl on the top; chamfered side edges; movable slide-in bottom. Surface decorated with repoussé floral and rocaille motifs on a grained background; front with an oval rocaille cartouche topped with an eagle and an engraved inscription inside: KENNETH Mc LEOD, / to his much loved Sister / ANNE ZABA, / Octr 23 rd 1848; back with a bouquet of flowers; side walls with blooming, leafy roses. Engraved A on the bottom; 1723/1724 tins; ca. mid-19th century decoration; England, London; vessel. Height 12 cm, width 7.7 cm, depth 5.7 cm, weight ca. 230 g., A top-down view of an octagonal metallic object with a raised central circular dome and decorative engraved border, showing a scalloped inner pattern and concentric ring detailing; the object appears silver in color with subtle darker gray accents from shadows and engraving, set against a light gray background.
