Tea caddy by Nash, Bowles fl. 1720–ca. 1725, goldsmith; rococo style. Cuboid tea caddy with a circular domed lid and a bowl on the top; chamfered side edges; movable slide-in bottom. Surface decorated with repoussé floral and rocaille motifs on a grained background; front features an oval rocaille cartouche topped with an eagle, with an engraved inscription inside: KENNETH Mc LEOD, / to his much loved Sister / ANNE ZABA, / Octr 23 rd 1848; back wall shows a bouquet of flowers; side walls show blooming, leafy roses. Engraved A on the bottom; 1723/1724 tins; decoration ca. mid-19th century. England, London, Great Britain. Function: vessel tea caddy. Height 12 cm; width 7.7 cm; depth 5.7 cm; weight ca. 230 g., A single ornate metallic container with a reflective silver surface sits against a plain light gray background, shaped with a faceted body and a domed removable lid; the body shows decorative raised floral and leaf motifs on each vertical panel and textured background areas, while the lid has banded and scalloped engraved patterns and a small rounded finial on top.
