Two-candle candelabrum by Charles Hougham fl. 1769–1793, classicism/George III Georgian style. Two-armed candelabrum on an oval foot bordered with pearling and decorated with a knobbed rosette. Conical, fluted stem topped with a vase-shaped socket containing a setting with two S-shaped arms terminating in saucers and vase-shaped sockets; between the arms is a vase topped with a ball. Sleeves decorated halfway with vertical flutes, smooth above. 1787/1788. England, London. Function: lighting. Height 38 cm; width 39 cm; depth 12 cm; weight 1060 g., A circular, shallow dish or bowl viewed from above with a scalloped, radiating pattern from a dark central depression, textured surface, and a decorative border of repeating raised circular motifs; colors visible include shades of gray, brown, beige, black, and off-white.
