Two-candle candelabrum by Charles Hougham fl. 1769–1793, goldsmith. Classicism / George III Georgian style. Oval foot bordered with pearling and decorated with a knobbed rosette. Conical fluted stem topped with a vase-shaped socket containing a setting with two S-shaped arms terminating in saucers and vase-shaped sockets; central vase topped with a ball. Sleeves decorated halfway with vertical flutes, smooth above. 1787–1788, London, England. Lighting. Height 38 cm; width 39 cm; depth 12 cm; weight 1060 g., A round metallic object with a central dark circular opening sits against a pale background; the metal surface is silver with a polished sheen and features a pattern of radiating ridges and scalloped decorative edges, with beaded trim around the outer rim and around the central opening, showing highlights and soft shadows in shades of silver, gray, white, and a dark near-black center.
