Two-candle candelabrum by Charles Hougham fl. 1769–1793. Classicism/George III/Georgian style; gilt/silver metal unspecified. Two-armed candelabrum on an oval foot bordered with pearling and decorated with a knobbed rosette. Conical, fluted stem topped with a vase-shaped socket containing a setting with two S-shaped arms terminating in saucers and vase-shaped sockets with spouts; between the arms is a vase topped with a ball. Sleeves decorated halfway with vertical flutes, smooth above. Fluted, pearling and rosette ornament. Dated 1787–1788. London, England. Function: lighting. Height 38 cm; width 39 cm; depth 12 cm; weight 1060 g., A circular metallic object with a central hollow, featuring a radial fluted pattern and a beaded inner ring, resting on a white background; the visible colors are silver, dark brown in the hollow, and white.
