Teapot by John Emes fl. 1796–1808, goldsmith. Ovoid teapot on a circular base with lid; height 17.9 cm, width 23.7 cm, weight 815 g. Decorated on the upper belly with a wide band of meander ornament and braid; ribbon-shaped, broken handle decorated with braid. Spout set high, decorated at the base with a stylized palmette. Lid finished with a knop. Engraved coat of arms on one side of the belly, cross on the other. Styles: Empire, George III/Georgian. Inscribed/dated 1806/1807, London, England. Materials: silver tea vessel., A single metallic vessel with a rounded body, short flared base, and a domed lid topped by a small finial, shown against a light gray background. The vessel is primarily silver in color with polished reflective surfaces, and it has a decorative band near the top featuring a geometric repeating pattern in darker silver tones. A spout-like projection at the front interrupts the band, and a vertical handle rises from the back of the lid in the same silver finish. The lid has concentric decorative rings and subtle engraved motifs in darker silver, and the body shows smooth silver areas with faint reflections and slight variations in tone. The overall color palette is silver and light gray.
