Teapot by John Emes fl. 1796–1808, 1806–1807, London, England. Ovoid teapot on a circular base with a lid; height 17.9 cm, width 23.7 cm, weight 815 g. Silver vessel in Georgian/George III Empire style. Upper belly decorated with a wide band of meander ornament and braid; side with a ribbon-shaped, broken handle decorated with braid. Spout set high, decorated at the base with a stylised palmette. Lid finished with a knob-shaped handle. Belly engraved with a coat of arms on one side and a cross on the other., A reflective metallic vessel with a rounded body and a domed lid topped by a small finial is shown against a plain light background, with a straight vertical handle running from the lid to the base; the vessel has an ornamental band around its upper portion featuring a repeating geometric fret pattern and additional decorative borders, and the visible colors are silver and shades of light gray.
