Cup and saucer by Dixon, James & Sons Sheffield; goldsmiths; fl. 1806–, maker's mark present. Hemispherical cup decorated with radiating curls to half its height, with a C-shaped side handle. Round saucer with a smooth rim and a mirror decorated with radiating curls. Dated 1891/1892, Sheffield, England, Great Britain. Vessel. Cup: height 6 cm, width 11 cm, depth 8.5 cm. Saucer: height 1.7 cm, diameter 14.2 cm. Cup and saucer weight approx. 420 g., A round metallic plate with a central shallow well, a radiating fluted pattern around the center, and a wide smooth rim; the surface shows a reflective silver tone with areas of darker tarnish and light scratches, and the overall colors visible are silver, gray, and hints of darker gray.
