Teapot by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd London; makers William Gibson & John Langman goldsmiths. Egg-shaped silver teapot on an oval foot, decorated with two diagonal bands, high upper edge, hinged lid topped with a wooden rosette, prominent spout on the side, non-original wooden handle set in silver sockets. Maker's mark dates 1896–1897. Modern additions noted. Height 13.5 cm; width 22.8 cm; depth 13.8 cm; weight 666 g. Made in Sheffield, England., A polished metal teapot with a rounded, ribbed body and a fluted decorative band around its upper and lower sections sits on a neutral gray surface. The teapot is primarily silver in color with reflective highlights and subtle shadows, and it has a curved spout extending from one side. A dark black curved handle with a stylized top attaches to the opposite side, and a small dark finial rests atop the lid, which has a shallow open rim. The overall scene shows a clean, studio-lit setting with shades of gray in the background.
