Single-candle candlestick, maker: William Cafe fl. 1757–ca. 1802, rococo style, 1763/1764, England — London, Great Britain. Single-candle candlestick on a raised, domed foot with a hexagonal rim, decorated with flower heads at the corners, passing into a baluster shaft and terminating in a vase-shaped socket with a disc-shaped profilm profit. Candlestick decorated with rococo motifs in the George II style — rocailles, plant tendrils, flowers, cartouches, shells and acanthus leaves; the entire decoration is slightly spirally twisted. Materials/technique: scrap goldsmith. Function: lighting. Dimensions: height 29 cm, diameter 16.9 cm, weight 717 g., A silver-colored ornate candlestick with a decorative round top and a flared, scalloped rim, a tapered shaft featuring raised floral and leaf motifs, a bulbous midsection with embossed flowers and scrolling details, and a wide decorative base with embossed flowers, leaves, and curved ornamental patterns, all shown against a pale gray to white gradient background.
