Platter lampshade by Digby & Smith, Benjamin fl. 1802–1807, goldsmith. Silver hemispherical lampshade with a non-original contemporary handle, smooth with a profiled ribbon edge. On the side, a relief plaque with the Czartoryski coat of arms on a paludament, under a princely mitre, with labres and the motto Badz co sie Be that as it may. Dated 1803–1804, London, England. Vessel. Height 8.5 cm; diameter 15.2 cm; weight approx. 230 g., A large circular metallic dish with a smooth reflective surface and a raised central boss, showing a few scratches and scuffs; near the rim at the bottom there is an ornate embossed emblem featuring decorative drapery and a small detailed scene set within a framed cartouche; the rim has a thin raised band. The visible colors are silver, light gray, and a few darker gray areas.
