Gdansk ducat, Stefan I Batory king of Poland; 1575–1586, author; Poland; Gdansk; coin, A single round coin with a worn, embossed design fills the center of the image; the coin is predominantly gold in color with areas of darker, slightly brownish wear. The surface shows ornate, raised decorative elements including flowing scrollwork and shield-like forms, and there are two mirror-like animal figures flanking the central motif. A beaded circular border runs near the rim, and the coin edge appears slightly irregular and aged. The background around the coin is plain white.
