Calvary, Bulhak, Jan 1876–1950 photographer, Vilnius, ca. 1934. Calvary of Vilnius Werki; churches; architecture; sacred architecture; Vilnius Baroque style; photography; nature photography. Image size: height 11.5 cm, width 16.5 cm., A large light-colored two-story building with a steep dark roof fills the foreground, showing a worn exterior and several windows; a small door is visible on the nearer wall. A dirt path and grassy area lead up to the building, bordered by a wooden fence and a few low benches or rails. Tall trees with leafy canopies stand to the left and right of the building, casting shadows. Behind the building rise ornate towers with pointed spires partly obscured by the roof and trees. The scene appears in muted tones of black, white, gray, and sepia.
