Helena Radziwill, née Przezdziecka 1752–1821, with grey hair, in a red dress, sitting on a chair with her arms folded; on her head a bonnet with an egret. The grey hair and clothing indicate the portrait dates from 1815–1820, when Helena would have been about 63–68 years old; earlier suggestions that she was pregnant in the portrait are considered impossible given the date. Painted by Ernst Gebauer 1782–1865. 1815–1820, Poland. Portrait miniature, 15.5 cm × 11.8 cm., A framed oil portrait of a seated woman wearing a red dress and a matching red head covering with a yellow feather, a white ruffled collar around her neck, pale skin and white curled hair, hands folded in her lap holding a small pendant, seated in a wooden chair with blue upholstery, against a dark neutral background; the portrait is set within an ornate gilded frame with elaborate scrollwork and decorative carved motifs in gold.
