Bona Sforza d'Aragona 1494–1557, c. 1643, unknown artist. Portrait, oil on panel, height 61.5 cm, width 51.5 cm. The portrait is probably the work of a local painter, the same who painted the portrait of Charles II of Styria, and is modeled on Lucas Cranach's image of the queen from the set of 10 miniature portraits of the Jagiellonian family. The painting bears a white number 510 on the lower right of the face and does not have a signature or royal gallery number on the reverse. There exists an oval copy 59 x 46 cm from a series of seven preserved oval copies of the Marble Room cycle, most likely from the beginning of the 19th century., A portrait of a person wearing a light beige head covering and a matching wrap around the neck, with a dark brown or black garment beneath; the face has pale skin with pinkish cheeks and neutral expression, brown eyes, and visible eyebrows. The background is a muted gray. The painting is set in an octagonal dark wooden frame with a few round metallic studs along the inner edge. Colors visible include beige, brown, black, gray, pink, and a metallic gold tone on the studs.
