The background of the vignette includes foliage and a suggestion of a tree or overhang behind her, with softer sketch marks indicating leaves and branches. The overall sheet has a wide pale border around the vignette and darker outer edges. Visible colors include shades of beige and cream for the paper, light tan and sepia tones in the sketches, and darker brown or gray lines for the drawing details.
