The brass icon depicts the Mother of God with the youthful Christ on her left shoulder within an eight-pointed star. On her shoulders are symbols of the Evangelists and images of angels, placed in the spheres between the points of the star. The corners depict scenes from prophetic visions: Moses's vision of the Burning Bush, the Tree of Jesse, Ezekiel's vision, and Jacob's Ladder. The upper part bears an identifying inscription: The Image of the Burning Bush. Background filled with white and blue enamel. Relief shallow and schematic. Attributed to an Old Believer provincial workshop. 2nd half of the 19th century, Russia. Icon; height 10 cm, width 9.2 cm., A square decorative plaque with a raised central medallion depicting a seated adult figure holding a child, surrounded by concentric circular and star-shaped relief elements and a group of smaller human figures and winged beings in various poses; the relief is metallic gold in color set against a bright blue background with a neutral light gray surrounding area, and the plaque has a thin gold border.
