Icon: Our Lady of Iver, Russian workshop. The icon follows the canonical Iversky pattern, characterized by vivid, contrasting colors dominated by purple, red, green, and gilding, with abundant decorative motifs—notably on the robe and maphorion borders and the floral ornamentation on the robe lining. A very late work of Russian painting 2nd half of the 19th century that retains archaism, especially in elongated faces with dark olive-toned complexions and schematically marked delicate features. Features monograms MP made with a rope and IC XC, the inscription Image of the Most Holy Theotokos of Iveria on the arms of the cross and on the left side of the painting, and depiction of Leonty and the holy martyr standing in prayer. Shows signs of modern conservation. Monogram on the reverse of the board. Russia; icon; height 35.5 cm, width 30.6 cm., A painted religious icon shows a central figure wearing a deep burgundy robe with gold trim and decorative patterns, holding a smaller figure dressed in pinkish-orange and green garments; both figures have gold haloes behind their heads. The larger figure's robe features intricate gold embroidery and a patterned border, and the smaller figure sits on the larger figure's arm with one hand raised. The background is an olive-green panel framed by a thin red border, and there are rectangular side panels in muted beige with small standing figures in red and green garments and gold haloes on each side. The palette includes burgundy, gold, olive green, beige, pinkish-orange, and touches of black and cream.
