He wears a vermilion, gilded chiton with a sash patterned with stars and a dark green himation. The garment folds are fine, stylized in a 17th-century baroque manner. The Savior’s face, with an olive complexion, is elongated and ascetic, framed by long brown hair and a pointed beard. On both sides are the letters of the Christological monogram IC XC and the inscription Lord Almighty. The background and the cruciform halo are gilded; the frame is muted green. 19th century, Russia.
