Water vessel qulla. Ovoid with elongated belly; edge of foot protrudes outward. Short, wide neck leading to a higher, slightly flared section above a sharp break in the wall. Strainer inside the neck formed by punctured holes in the clay before firing. Entire surface covered with cream-yellow whitewash. Medium-porous Nile clay. 2nd half of the 5th–6th century. Vessel for storing water. Height 17.2 cm; width 9.3 cm; outer rim diameter 7 cm; base diameter 5 cm. Egyptian workshop; Tell Atrib., A round, broken pottery object viewed from above sits near the center of a smooth grey surface, showing textured beige and light brown clay with rough edges and a missing chunk along one side, casting a soft shadow to the right; visible colors include beige, light brown, pale tan, grey, and darker grey in the shadow.
