Water vessel qulla. Ovoid, elongated belly; foot edge protrudes outward. Short, wide neck passes into a higher, slightly flared part above a sharp break in the wall. Inside the neck is a strainer formed by puncturing holes in the clay before firing. Entire surface covered with cream-yellow whitewash. Medium-porous Nile clay. 2nd half of the 5th–6th century. Vessel for storing water. Height 17.2 cm; width 9.3 cm; outer rim diameter 7 cm; base diameter 5 cm. Egyptian workshop; Coptic; made at Tell Atrib., A broken clay vessel with a rounded body and a narrow base, showing a rough textured surface in beige and tan with patches of reddish-brown on the rim and base, a missing upper section with jagged edges revealing inner layers, subtle horizontal ridges around the lower body, and a plain gray background.
