Lekythos with a sphinx. Small Attic red-figure lekythos with a vase shape. Narrow neck, rounded belly mounted on a round foot. Front central belly decorated with an image of a sphinx; reverse side has worn finials. Ceramic vessel, Greek Attica, 1st half of the 4th century BC. Height 9.4 cm; diameter 6 cm. Maker: unknown Attic workshop., A small rounded ceramic jug with a narrow neck, flared rim, and a curved handle attached from neck to shoulder, showing worn and flaking surface; the jug displays a mix of earthy brown clay and patches of black slip with decorative black areas and remaining brown detailing; the handle and rim appear rough and weathered with exposed brown clay, while the body has mottled areas where the black coating has peeled away, revealing brown beneath; the base is circular and brown, and the overall colors visible are brown and black.
