Lekythos with a sphinx, unknown Attic workshop. A small Attic red-figure lekythos with a vise. The neck is narrow; the belly is round, mounted on a round foot. The central part of the front belly is decorated with an image of a sphinx. The back of the vessel has worn finials. 1st half of the 4th century BC, Attica. Ceramic vessel; height 9.4 cm, diameter 6 cm., A round ceramic vessel seen from above with a narrow central opening, showing a worn surface with flaking and chips; the visible colors include shades of brown, black, tan, and a few gray areas, with irregular patches and speckles of lighter tan against darker black regions, and a mix of smooth and rough textures around the rim and body.
