Hand-made cross, Ethiopian workshop. The equal-armed cross is inscribed in a circular frame, surrounded by a braided ornament arranged in a rhomboid shape. The space between the arms of the cross and the frame is cut out. The oval, smooth handle merges into a rectangular plaque, topped with a rhomboid element. The plaque and the rhomboid element are decorated with braid. 20th century, Addis Ababa. Cross; height 44 cm, width 20 cm., A carved wooden object in dark brown tones with a long handle and an ornate top, featuring interlacing knot patterns and geometric motifs; the top has a circular open center surrounded by concentric decorative bands and a quatrefoil-like outer shape, and the lower end transitions into a square panel with braided carving and a small diamond-shaped finial, all set against a pale gray background.
