Amphora spatheion, unknown North African workshop Tunisia/Libya. Cylindrical, elongated amphora with a smooth yellow-green surface, probably covered with a coating produced during firing natural engobe, so-called self-slip. Two-stage profiled spout with a rounded top and an outward-sloping lip. Small loop-shaped handles glued to the arms and to the neck just below the spout; conical bottom. Inner walls covered with a resin impregnation, also visible on the outer walls of the upper part of the amphora. Complete vessel, ceramic body not visible. 2nd half of the 6th–7th century; findspot: Edfu. Vessel amphora. Height 44.2 cm; diameter 6.6 cm rim, 10 cm body., A tall, elongated ceramic vessel with a narrow neck and a small rounded foot, showing a pair of looped handles near the top; the surface is mostly beige with areas of darker brown and light tan, and there are a few small reddish-brown spots and subtle variations in texture on the body, set against a smooth gray background.
