Oinochoe, Gnathia style; decoration: on the neck an engraved horizontal ivy sprig with white-painted heart-shaped leaves and flowers shaped as pointed rosettes, and a second sprig extending downward from it placed centrally at the front; 2nd half of the 4th century BC; Apulia; oinochoe vessel; height 19.5 cm, width 13 cm., A single rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow neck and flared, slightly scalloped rim is shown against a plain light gray background, the surface of the vessel predominantly black with areas of worn beige where the finish has chipped away; a central handle runs from the rim to the shoulder and shows more extensive beige wear, and a small decorative band of lighter colored floral-like shapes sits near the neck; the base is slightly raised and shows exposed beige ceramic and wear, while the body displays a few scuffs and scratches revealing underlying lighter tones.
