Aryballus lekythos, Reddish-brown clay with black, slightly shiny, well-covering varnish, including underside of foot and inside handles. Low echinus-shaped foot, spherical slightly flattened body; low narrow neck with funnel-shaped rim with thickened lip. Body decorated with a bird in left profile with beak raised. Height 9.3 cm, width 7.6 cm., A rounded, bulbous ceramic vessel with a single curved handle connecting the body to a tall, flared neck and rim; the surface shows worn, chipped areas and a mottled texture. The vessel is predominantly black with patches of brown and tan where the surface has worn away, and there is a small area of lighter brown on one side of the body. The rim and base show visible wear with exposed tan and brown tones, and the handle has small worn spots revealing lighter brown beneath the black. The background is a uniform gray.
