Cypriot jug, ca. 850–750 BC Cypriot Geometric Period III. Painted pottery jug with a flat foot, spherical body, high narrow neck with a strongly tilted spout, and a small vertical handle supported by arms and a ring on the neck. Decoration: above the maximum diameter a black band and a set of five parallel lines framed by thicker bands; on the arms four sets of concentric circles arranged symmetrically on the sides of the vessel's axis; handle decorated with transverse lines. Origin: Cyprus. Vessel jug. Height 10.5 cm, width 7.8 cm., A rounded clay vessel with a narrow neck and flared rim sits against a plain background, showing an aged surface with worn patches and chips; the body is bulbous with a short foot and a single handle rising from the shoulder to the neck. The visible colors include muted beige, tan, brown, gray, and hints of darker brown in the weathered bands and marks, with subtle variations of these tones across the surface.
