Lamp decorated with a depiction of a gladiator so-called Samnite, unknown Roman workshop, Scen.Gal.Class., gladiators iconography, lighting, oil lamps, single-burner lamp, 2nd half of the 2nd century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476, oil lamp, weight 0.078 kg, An oval, shallow clay object with a rounded spout and raised lip, showing a sculpted reclining figure within a recessed central area; the surface is textured with worn patches and irregularities, and there are decorative raised ridges around the inner rim and a raised element at the opposite end from the spout. The visible colors are shades of brown, terracotta, and darker brown or blackened areas, with some lighter beige highlights.
