Cista container decorated with a depiction of the Dioscuri and Athena. Cylindrical vessel made of sheet metal, decorated with an engraved depiction of the Dioscuri and Athena, 8 figures preserved. Under the rim and at the lower edge are bands of engraved plant decoration. Concave bottom. Legs in the shape of predator's paws, ending in sirens. Slightly convex lid, made of sheet metal, decorated with an engraved depiction of two hippocampi. Trace of a handle in the centre. Dating: 4th century BC, Praeneste Italy. Metal vessel, cista on 3 legs. Weight 1.132 kg; height 24.5 cm; diameter 20 cm bottom, 22 cm top., A cylindrical metal vessel with a weathered surface showing a mix of green, dark green, brown, bronze, and hints of bluish tones, resting on a plain neutral background. The rim is irregular and the interior shows dark green and bluish patina. The exterior surface has mottled patches of green corrosion and darker brown areas, with a few raised circular rivet-like elements visible near the top. The vessel stands on a group of ornate feet that are bronze-toned and sculpted with figurative shapes and paw-like bases, showing wear and similar greenish patina. The overall appearance is aged and mottled with a combination of metallic brown, green, and bluish colors.
