Under the rim and at the lower edge are bands of engraved plant decoration. Concave bottom. Legs in the shape of predator's paws, ending in sirens. Slightly convex lid, made of sheet metal, decorated with an engraved depiction of two hippocampi. Trace of a handle in the centre. 4th century BC, Praeneste Italy. Vessel; metal; weight 1.132 kg; height 24.5 cm; diameter 20 cm bottom, diameter 22 cm top., A cylindrical metal container with a rounded lid stands on a neutral background, showing a mottled surface of dark brown and green patina with areas of bright green corrosion and touches of reddish-brown; the lid is darker with subtle variations and a small hole at the rim. The body features a few raised circular rivet-like elements and traces of etched or scratched linear patterns amid the green patches. The container rests on a group of decorative tripod feet shaped like stylized animal paws and small seated figures, which exhibit a mix of green corrosion and brown metal tones. The overall surface shows worn, textured areas and irregular discoloration in shades of brown, green, and hints of reddish hues.
