Rim decorated with a radial ornament and a schematic ivy sprig; shoulders with a series of vertical lines. Belly decorated with figural scenes. Side A: Dionysus with a cornucopia accompanied by a satyr and a maenad. Side B: an archer flanked by two helmeted hoplites with round shields. Lid with a pomegranate-shaped handle, decorated with an ivy sprig on the rim. Circa 520–510 BC, Attica. Vessel type: column krater. Weight 1.382 kg; diameters 19.2 cm body and 22.5 cm with vices; heights 21.4 cm body and 22.6 cm with vices., An orange terracotta vessel with a lid and two handles sits against a neutral gray background; the vessel shows black painted figures and decorative bands, with visible wear and flaking revealing the base orange color beneath; a group of black-figure human silhouettes and shields encircles the body, each figure depicted in profile with limbs and garments detailed in black, and the lower body decorated with vertical black stripes above a rounded base that is worn and shows traces of black and orange; the lid has a rounded orange knob and a black top with an orange rim, and the handles show black paint with orange exposed where the surface is chipped.
