Set of three beads, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC Early Dynastic III period. Set of three different tubular beads: one a naturally broken from a snail shell; two b, c cut from the shell of an unidentified snail. Bead b is distinguished by its rounded triangular cross-section. Tubular shell beads, jewellery; associated with children's graves. Origin: Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra, northeastern Syria. Decoration., A neutral gray background with a few small irregular objects floating against it: a white cylindrical fragment with smooth, slightly glossy surfaces and faint brown specks; a longer, off-white rectangular piece mottled with darker brown and gray patches and a rough textured surface; and a shorter, blocky piece with a mix of light gray, dark gray, and brown tones and a worn, uneven surface.
