Bracelet. Made of flattened wire with thinning, overlapping ends. 9th–8th century BC; Villanovian period, Etruria. Body ornament; weight 46 g, height 1.2 cm, diameter 8.5 cm., A coiled bracelet or ring shaped like a snake with a textured, scale-like surface visible across most of its body, showing wear and small surface pitting; the snake head is detailed with carved features and a small rounded eye, and the tail tapers to a thinner end that lies near the inner curve. The object displays a mix of dark metallic tones with areas of greenish patina and spots of brownish corrosion, set against a light gray background.
