Fragment of a necklace, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, beads, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period, biconical beads, fluted beads, jewellery, Al-Jazira Syria; Iraq; Mesopotamia, children's graves; fragment composed of eight frit beads of various shapes: six round fluted, one truncated-cone fluted, one biconical smooth; ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC; Syria, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, decoration., A group of small irregularly shaped objects with rough, porous surfaces is arranged against a solid gray background; the objects appear in a variety of muted colors including beige, tan, brown, dark gray, black, and off-white, with some pieces showing mixed patches of lighter and darker tones; several pieces have central holes, some are ring-like or flower-shaped, and others are more rounded or pebble-like with textured, pitted surfaces.
