Fragment of a necklace, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop; beads, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period; nine irregular, elongated rock crystal lumps—originally each had a conical lump of frit with a hole for stringing glued to it; found at Tell Rad Shakra, northeastern Syria Al-Jazira / Khabur basin, Northern Mesopotamia; decoration., A group of translucent irregular stones arranged against a solid gray background, each stone showing a mix of clear and milky areas with a few brownish and yellowish mineral flecks or patches, some stones reflecting light with glossy surfaces and subtle internal textures, colors present include gray, clear/white, brown, yellow, and hints of pale beige.
