Pendant, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Pendant or pin finial in the shape of a standing quadruped sheep?, head missing, plastically separated, straight hanging tail. On both sides of the animal, halfway up, there are two circular recesses drilled. A vertical hole is drilled through the centre of the torso. Materials/technique not specified. Dimensions: height 1.8 cm, width 2 cm, depth 0.6 cm. Origin: Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria. Associated contexts: Al-Jazira region; children's graves; jewellery; Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC., A roughly rectangular irregular object with a pitted, porous surface, showing a mottled mix of beige, off-white, brown, tan, gray, and darker brown spots; the object has rounded and chipped edges, a few small depressions and holes, and a slightly raised bump on one end, all set against a flat gray background.
