Kitchen pot, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, kitchen vessels. A kitchen pot with an egg-shaped belly with a rounded bottom, slightly inward-sloping walls, terminating at the top in a rim, diagonally cut inward. A few centimeters below the rim, four symmetrically placed horizontal crescent-shaped handles are attached. The outer walls are intentionally roughened at the bottom up to 2/3 of the vessel's height, while polished above. The roughened part of the vessel is heavily sooted. The clay contains a rich admixture of crushed quartz. 1st half of the 3rd millennium BC; Early Jazira III period, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia. Vessel; height 23.5 cm, width 25.3 cm, weight 2.6 kg., An aged rounded vessel with a wide opening and a slightly flared rim sits against a neutral background, showing a surface mottled with shades of brown, tan, beige, and dark brown; its exterior displays areas of lighter beige patches and darker brown sections with visible irregular lines and worn textures, and small protrusions near the rim on opposite sides; the vessel rests on a clear cylindrical stand and the overall appearance is earthy and weathered.
