Vise-less jug, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, clay; vise-less vessel. Bulbous jug with an ovoid belly with a flat, crookedly cut round bottom, sloping shoulders, a high cylindrical neck terminating in a wide, flat spout protruding outwards. From Tell Rad Shakra, northeastern Syria Al-Jazira/Khabur basin, Northern Mesopotamia., A roughly spherical, pale beige object with a textured, slightly mottled surface is shown against a flat gray background; the surface displays a few darker beige and light brown patches and small pits and scratches, along with a few small marks in dark and red colors, and overall the object has an aged, worn appearance.
